Kübler Group is a member of the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance

Products Company

10 November 2021

As a component manufacturer, Kübler would like to participate in the development of comprehensive standards as well as in real projects in the consortium.

The Open Industry 4.0 Alliance acts as a partnership of leading, European industrial companies that pragmatically participate in the implementation of cross-vendor Industry 4.0 solutions and services for manufacturing plants and automated warehouses. The alliance was launched in April 2019.

The Open Industry 4.0 Alliance's open, standards-based offering consists of four building blocks: Device Connectivity, Edge, Operator Cloud and Cloud Central, plus an associated service offering. Device Connectivity establishes the connection to the machines and sensors. Edge is the central node for all important and locally necessary functions in the factory. Operator Cloud is the central node in the customer's company. This operator cloud also has an open layer and supports all company-centric functions and applications. Finally, Cloud Central enables the bi-directional exchange of data (especially master data, but also measurement data from a calibration) and information (for example technical documentation or repair instructions) across company boundaries.

As a component manufacturer, Kübler would like to participate in the development of comprehensive standards as well as in real projects in the consortium. An important factor why Kübler has joined the Open Alliance: Standardised communication and the required interfaces will determine whether projects are simple or complex to implement, input and expertise is required for this.
