Fritz Kuebler GmbH offers various high-quality absolute encoders in its sensor technology portfolio

The product portfolio of Fritz Kuebler GmbH contains incremental and absolute encoders. Besides these rotary encoders, which can be integrated in different applications in sensor technology, Fritz Kuebler GmbH provides linear encoders such as magnetic and draw-wire systems as well as length measuring kits.

The German company does not only specialise in sensor technology, but also in industrial counting and process technology and offers devices such as tachometers, timers, process controllers or position indicators. In these areas, the company has been an international leader for several years. With more than 40 years experience, Kuebler has an excellent reputation when it comes to highly reliable, high-quality and cost-effective components. As one of the international success stories, Kuebler recently delivered encoders for the New York subway. Fritz Kuebler GmbH has its headquarter in Baden-Wuerttemberg and has about 150 employees. Kuebler’s components and devices are used by thousands of customers in more than 50 countries.

Kuebler’s components and devices can be found in many industry sectors such as the automotive, textile, automation, wood working and medical industries. They fulfil tasks such as the count and display of physical values and the detection and logging of movement. On special demand and for certain purposes, Kuebler also manufactures individual products and creates unique solutions for  certain customer needs within one or two days. Kuebler’s absolute encoders are generally available in two versions, as singleturn and multiturn encoders, both in shaft and hollow shaft versions with field bus. The characteristic of an absolute encoder is that the light sent by an LED is modulated by a code pattern on a rotating disk. The modulated light signal is scanned by a special Kuebler Opto-Asic. A unique bit pattern is assigned to each position on the disc, the bit pattern is usually available as a Gray Code. The advantage is that after power failure true position verification is available as soon as power is up again, even if the shaft was moved during the dead state.

The offered incremental encoders include miniature encoders in shaft and hollow shaft versions and regular shaft versions with various diameter sizes. Kuebler’s incremental encoders operate on an electro-optical scanning principle. A disk with a radial grating of lines and gaps rotates between a light source, mostly an LED, and a receiver which produces a sine wave signal proportional to the light received.
