"Together round a table" is the motto of the Vesperkirche in Schwenningen, which aims to bring people together over the Christmas season and provide them with a festive meal. More than just a gesture of care and humanity for all those, who often go away empty-handed when gifts are being distributed and also for those, who know that giving brings more joy than receiving.
In St. Paul's Church in Schwenningen the tables have been laid with a festive spread for: "People like you and I", old acquaintances and new faces, lonely people and those who have families and friends, people affected by poverty or who, for other reasons, have ended up living 'on the margin', homeless people and those who drop by to show 'solidarity' and pay more, as they feel that meeting the other guests enriches their lives and does them good too."
